Do Italians pay for dates?

The general convention in Italy is that the guy will pay for your date, so gentlemen should make sure they bring enough money to cover the bill in case she doesnt offer to split it. As in, dont bother being on time. While there are limits, remember that punctuality just isnt such a big deal in Italy.
