According to The Knot 2020 Jewelry and Engagement Study, 26% of newlyweds met online (the most popular way to meet a spouse since 2019). Plus, recent insights indicate that marriages formed from dating apps may be less likely to end in divorce as members use the sites to date intentionally.

What percentage of online marriages end in divorce?

Here are some of their findings: 5.9% of couples who met online broke up, as opposed to 7.6% who met offline. Of these 19,131 couples who met online and got married, only 7% were either separated or divorced (the U.S. divorce rate stands at 40% to 50%)
