Thanks to the series number of your piano you can date it to within a few months. You will often find this number on the frame somewhere near the tuning pegs, sometimes on the soundboard either on the top or the reverse (behind on upright pianos, underneath on grand pianos).
Where is the date on a piano?
If your piano has an iron frame, these marks can often be found below keyboard level in an upright piano, and are quite easily accessible by removing the BOTTOM DOOR (the front panel below the keyboard). This is usually held in place by one or two simple clips at the top edge, unless someone has screwed it in.

Can I move a piano by myself?
Moving a piano is very difficult. Before you try to do it yourself, you might want to consider hiring professional movers to do the job. This is particularly true if you need to move the piano down a flight of stairs, into an elevator, or have tight spaces to navigate.
How do you know if a piano can be tuned?
For most notes on the piano, a hammer strikes two or three strings tuned to the same pitch. If one of those strings is off the note will sound wrong. The notes on a piano should sound sweet and clear, not buzzy or twangy. If your ear is telling you that somethings wrong, its time to tune the piano.
