According to the rule, the age of the younger partner (regardless of gender) should be no less than seven more than half the older partners age.

Is a 7 year age difference too much?

Thats why a 7 year age difference in marriage is exceptionally good. So, if both partners are in the same age group or born closer together, the chances of them being on the same page emotionally, mentally, and physically are far less. However, with a 5-7 years age gap, that shouldnt be so much of a problem.
