Question: How do you date old glass bottles?

There are three keys to help with dating most bottles: Side seams: None: bottle may be free blown, in which case it has a very uneven shape and dates before 1860. Or the bottle may have a nice even shape, but was spun in the mold to smooth out the seams; a practice common around 1900-1920.

Do they still make vaseline glass?

Today, a few manufacturers continue the vaseline glass tradition: Fenton Glass, Mosser Glass, Gibson Glass and Jack Loranger. U.S. production of uranium glasses ceased in the middle years of World War II because of the governments confiscation of uranium supplies for the Manhattan Project from 1942 to 1958.

Is pressed glass valuable?

Despite the recent trend for retro designs, pressed glass remains one of the most undervalued types of glass out there. Pressed glass is often found for very cheap and even antique pressed glass can go for just a few dollars.
