Automobiles. Cars can be expensive in Colombia due to import duties of up to 35 percent. Over 60 percent of the vehicles sold in Colombia are imported resulting in many models of cars being more expensive in Colombia than in the U.S. There is also a growing used vehicle market in Medellín.
